Feedback
Inhalt:
This class will examine the physical, electrical, and conceptual aspects of feedback that are at the core of many mechanical and algorithmic music/art-making systems. It is a very hands-on, process-based course, and we will build physical, electrical, and virtual feedback systems, play and invent feedback games, and create artworks that use feedback as an organizing principal. Students will do several small exercises and studies, as well as an ambitious final project that deals in some way with the topics we have covered in class. The form of the final project is completely open; it might
be a performance, a composition, a sculpture, a game, a piece of software, etc. Collaboration is encouraged.
Basic electronic and electro-mechanical components will be provided, but students should be prepared to purchase/scavenge/invent additional materials for use in their projects. The purchase of an Arduino is optional but encouraged.
