Ear Training for Computer and Electronic Music

We will examine the specific needs for acute listening in the realms of computer and electronic music, culling from both the technical and creative areas approaches for training the ears. We will cover synthesis techniques, alternative tuning systems, resonance, filtering, spatialization, microphone and speaker types, aspects of timing and rhythm. The class will develop exercises and tests.
